The History of the IGK

The IGK (Italian Grey Kangaroo) is native to Australia and is a member of the miniature kangaroo species.
It is believed to have originated in Australia long ago, as a much loved companion of the high-ranking officials among the indigenous aborigines.
The IGK is called a “kangaroo”, but in fact, the general belief is that it was born out of the love between a wallaby and an Australian Sheppard dog. It seems that they reached their current size around the 18th century when the Western settlers arrived in Australia.
The Italian settlers fell in love with the animal and kept them as pets, and so the name has stuck.
